How to avoid sensor dust / spots? | DSLR and Lense Accessories | Photography Forum

It is very important that you take very good care of your DSLR lenses as not only are they the ones responsible in perfectly capturing images but also each lens costs a lot and can be one of the most expensive camera accessory you have to collect.

You need to regularly clean your lens as every time you have a lens change, you expose your sensors to dust and other particles of the external environment and when left uncleaned, you will get sensor spots or dust in all of your captured images.

So how do you effectively avoid sensor dusts?

Detach the lens from the camera and slowly blow air directly on the sensor before every shot, everytime I have a lens change, it has been my habit to blow air on my sensors before every shot!

but if that doesnt work, I advice that youhave a professional do this for you as lenses are very sensitive and its not always advisable to clean it by yourself especially without proper training.

Fortunately, there are also new models today that has self cleaning sensors wherein you the sensors itself is designed to clean itself and avoid sensor dusts like the Nikon D300
